The White House is a delightful 15th Century Grade II listed manor house set in one acre of attractive gardens providing a relaxing atmosphere for all.

Having been  awarded 4 Yellow Stars by the AA for it's outstanding facilities and service and the prestigious Enjoy England Silver Award, The White House  is also highly recommended by the prestigious Johansens Guide and the English Tourist Board. 

Having been refurbished by Mike and Linda, The White House offers first class bed and breakfast accommodation in comfortable surroundings.

A buffet breakfast is available for guests who have early departures and a full cooked breakfast with locally produced sausages and bacon, local free range eggs, fresh fruit salad and homemade preserves all available for those guests who have a more leisurely start to the day, both served in the comfortable surroundings at The White House.

An evening meal is available at our nearby pub, The Lion and Lamb, which is also owned by Mike and Linda (www.lionandlamb.co.uk), and is  just a 2-minute drive away where food is served all day until 10.00pm.  To assist you during your stay with us, The White House offers, subject to availability, free transportation to the Lion and Lamb.

Being located close to Stansted Airport (1.5 miles, but not on the flight path),  The White House is the perfect venue for travellers going to and from the airport.    There is ample parking at a cost of £5.00 per day. 

Taxi transfers to the airport or elsewhere can be arranged through the very reliable 24x7 Limited (telephone =44 (0) 1279 661111.  The fare to Stansted Airport from The White House is approximately £9.00.

The White House is conveniently situated for easy access to East Anglia's many attractions including Hatfield Forest National Trust, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Cambridge and Newmarket Races as well as the City of London by road or rail.

All cancellations must be made within at least 48 hours or we will have to make a full charge for the room to your credit card.

*The White House have a strict non smoking policy and anyone not abiding to this will be charged £50.00 to their credit card to cover cleaning costs.
